ActiveState - Dynamic Languages-ready for the next challenges, by design is quite an interesting paper on Python, Perl etc.
This follows nicely from my earlier post. IMHO it would be good if Python development were concentrated in 3 areas:
Standard Library Development: see 42: Toward Python's future: Everyone agrees
Virtual Machine support particularly Parrot (latest comments by Sam Ruby), Java (Jython) and IronPython with emphasis on 100% compatability. This nicely opens up more deployment and integration opportunities as well as ways into new corporate environments.

By the way I got the link from Smalltalk Tidbits, Industry Rants: The dynamic languages meme spreads via Agile Buzz Forum - The dynamic languages meme spreads and they seem quite upset that Smalltalk is not mentioned ;-)

I'm happy to see interest in Dynamic languages in any way :)
