The Desktop ASP: the killer USP

John has picked up on Solaris 10 Zones and ISP colo in the comments and also in The Desktop ASP so I am thinking more about this.

I now think I have found the USP (unique selling point) for Sun. We need a Knoppix like CDROM version of the Sun Java Desktop system that connects to your SunRay session. With this CDROM I could walk to any internet connected PC and get to my own desktop (sunray server session). From what I remember that someone has said somewhere VNC is a bit limiting at the moment in quality. But surely that is fixable.
It is kind of like Mandrake Move but so much better. I now have GB of file storage, I can share my files directly as normal, I can get them backed up, security should be much better.
For Sun it must be a winner. It makes it that much cheaper to try out the SunRay solution so it bound to lead to more sales of SunRay server software, SunRay clients and of course Servers and Solaris.
