The ability to produce targeted feeds in Wordpress (see Simple Thoughts Blog Archive Welcome to targeted feed for JavaBlogs from today) looks like...
a very good idea. I often wonder if targetted feeds (one per category) would be a good idea for 42. At the moment I don't think it is possible with Typepad (at least not directly, I guess I could write something that would download the master feed and create category feeds and then upload them).
Does anyone have an opinion on this?
Then.
Aha, just checked with google and voila: Tikun Olam-תקון עולם: Make the World a Better Place: Create Category-Specific RSS Feeds for Typepad Blogs. Maybe I will do this, then I would be more comfortable adding myself to things like Planet Python
PS: forgot, original link was via Artima: Java Buzz Forum - Welcome to targeted feed for JavaBlogs from today.

Opinion: do it. I've been considering the same thing lately for b2evolution. Especially for bloggers with multiple audiences, this'd be nice. Being a missionary as well as a developer, I often wonder how long Planet Python would tolerate my mixed feed. ;)

I'm glad my post about creating category-specific feeds for TP blogs was helpful. It took me God knows how long to figure out how to do it correctly. So I'm glad when someone benefits a bit from all that toil.
I myself do an mp3 blog within my larger blog & list my blog at mp3blogs.org. If I didn't have a specific feed for my music category then I'd be sending them posts about politics, Seattle, kids & everything else.
Is html turned off for comments here?

Richard,
Well it certainly saved me loads of time, thanks.
