theConnexion.net is a new Wesbite for "News & Views from around British Methodism". Richard and I think it is also unique around the web as it offers any/every British Methodist a place to blog for free.
As you will see from my blogroll (left hand column on 42) there are a growing number of UK Methodists with their own weblogs. That is great and something we are very happy about.
However, there are many Methodists who have worthwhile things to say but nowhere to say them. theConnexion.net gives them a safe space to do this.
Our goals are:-
- to provide a free, safe, comfortable place for Methodists to try out blogging (some may want to move onto their own blogs, others may be happy to stay with us and others may decide that it is not for them: all these choices are fine by us)
- to increase the visibility of British Methodism
- to have fun
- to provide a place for Methodists to gather on the internet
- to provide a place for the ordinary Methodist those whose voice is not often heard
- to minimise the need for technical skills
If you are a British Methodist and would like to get involved then either leave a comment here (or on the theConnexion.net: Launch in Progress page) or .
Of course everyone else is also very welcome to read, comment, trackback etc. We hope that by doing so you will find many things that will convince you that Methodism is on a roll (for some of my reasons see 42: Why do I think the Methodist Church is on a roll?)
