A few minutes ago my internet connection went down for a few minutes. It made me realise a few things:
Firstly, I never look at any content from my ISP. They are not my home page, I don't even have a bookmark for them. In fact I might need to go back through emails to find my account details.
Secondly, it turns out that it is 138 days since I last rebooted my firewall. I think we went away for a weeks holiday then so I turned it off to save electricity. Of course I did not have to reboot it this time either.
Our main server was rebooted 29 days ago as the automatic update installed a new Linux Kernel.
I love it when IT systems just work so that we take them for granted, problem is when I was a Windows user I never got that experience.
