This is going to be a quiet week in more ways than one.
On Monday I go on retreat (Ministers of Northampton District the Methodist Church, ). I am still planning to cycle to Launde Abbey via an assembly at Irthlingborough Infant School.
I get back sometime on Thursday.
Not just quiet because I am not here but also because I won't be taking any technology (no phone signal and it is a retreat). So no blogging (mind you it has been very erratic anyway at the moment).
I am pleased to note that in the rankings on the Christians Against Poverty fundraising page I have reached #5 (it only counts on-line donations otherwise I would be higher). As a child I thought it would be good to have a #1 hit, now is your chance to make that dream a reality. I look forward to seeing the results when I get back.

Alternatively if you have already sponsored me or don't want to then there are current 12 other people doing sponsored things for Christians Against Poverty on justgiving. So why not give to one of them?
Now off to pack lots of warm cycling clothes.
[Update]
Monday morning. Met office forecast is snow showers, no heavy snow. So leaving on my bike.

Have a good time at Launde Abbey, Dave. I have good memories of a confernence there with the Anabaptist Network in June 2007.

Have a good time at the retreat - I could do with a few days at Launde. It's Minsteracres for me the following week - leading Probationers. You might notice similarities in the content with the Northampton one last year if you were there!!
I think Alison's leading yours? Do give her my love.

Tim,
Yes I have good memories from the retreat last year that Micky led.
Micky,
Yes I was there and those probationers are in for a treat. I still have the acrylics picture I painted.
Looking forward to Alison leading. I'll pass on your love.

You must be crazy to cycle in this! The heavy snow might not have got as far as you yet, but it's on its way.

Peter,
I don't think cycling in fresh snow or while snowing is particularly crazy. It is easy to get off and push if things are difficult. I got up hills that the AA needed a 4 wheel drive farm tractor to pull them up.
The problem is later when traffic clears a very narrow lane (or just two clear wheel tracks) as then people will try to squeeze past a cyclist and there is nowhere for the cyclist to go.
