Yes, but, can you imagine the fall out if the UK Prime Minister claimed that the Christian God had told him to go to war with a Muslim country? WW3?

    Helen,

Interesting, a good point. A few other things to consider:

    - He lied. Does anyone think that helps with relationships with Muslim countries, or Muslims in the UK, or anyone else anywhere?

    - Seems to me that I remember GW Bush and other members of his government pretty much did say they were going to war because of what the Christian God had told them. Yet no WW3.

    - Seems to me that Muslims are going to be pretty unconvinced by a person of faith who claims that faith does not impact their decisions. That is just as crazy for a Muslim, a Jew, a Hindu, a Buddhist etc as it is for a Christian.

Of course if you are going to claim that the Christian God has told you to do something then it would be a good idea if that something were in line with the teaching of Jesus (as in Love God, Love your Neighbour, Love your enemies, Repent, Forgive ...).
