In 42: Prayer at work I wrote
When Christians gather to pray things happen. They are changed and the communities around are changed. This can get negative responses (which probably show we are doing the right thing).
Since the vandalism of our sign advertising our current 24x7 Prayer week more has happened.
On Monday night some passers by reported to the Police a firework or something similar being fired at the Church. At that time the prayer week was of course on, as was Guides in the main Church above.
Scary to think that anyone would do such a thing, putting lives at risk.
We will continue to pray for Raunds and for the people who seem so frightened by prayer.
Sadly, people in Raunds are in huge need of prayer at this time. Also on Monday evening a school kid was knocked over by a car in the main street (we believe no broken bones) and a Dad was killed on his motorbike on the A45. We have been praying for both these families and we won't be bullied into stopping.
Meanwhile my temporary poster remains up. It dares the kids who destroyed our sign to call me and hear words of forgiveness, love and welcome. It tells them we are praying for them.
Hopefully tomorrow the replacement bits for the new sign will arrive so we can again remind the people of Raunds that we are having another 24x7 prayer week. What a time for prayer advent is as we look to the return of Jesus and as we give thanks for the forgiveness, love, life and hope that God gives us through his son whose birth we celebrate at Christmas.

Still the same old Raunds then?
I hold you all in my prayers, Dave. Evil is a bugger to get rid of when it gets you in its sights. But, it never wins in the long run when you are about the Lord's work.
