    Truth is that we don't really know 'how', do we? With God, all things are possible, says Mary, but the Virgin birth thing is beyond our understanding. I believe it, though...

    We don't know 'when' either, of course. We can be fairly sure that Jesus was not born in the 'year dot' on the 25th. December, but that doesn't really matter. We need to celebrate it somehow, and it seems to me that the middle of winter is as good a time as any.

    But we do know 'why'. The Father sent the Son into the world to be the Saviour of the world.

    PS All the boys a lot taller than when you saw them last (A & P have overtaken me. S is shooting up at the moment and will pass Jane very soon). All well and all busy :-)
